About Katelyn Olson, MA RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Katelyn is a warm and compassionate counsellor who creates a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive space for children, youth, adults and families to explore their emotions, challenges, and strengths.
With her gentle and curious approach, Katelyn believes in meeting you where you are, helping you feel heard, understood, and empowered as you navigate life’s complexities and work toward meaningful change. She tailors her approach to each client’s unique needs, blending evidence-based methods with compassion and creativity. Grounded in a humanistic perspective, Katelyn prioritizes self-discovery, personal autonomy, and helping clients uncover their inner strengths.
Katelyn focuses her practice in the following areas:
Children, Youth and Parents: Katelyn works with children (ages 5+), teens, and their parents to address challenges that often arise during early childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. These challenges may include anxiety, difficulties with emotional and behavioral regulation, and communication struggles. With children, Katelyn adopts an attachment-based and play-focused approach, creating a safe and engaging environment where young people can express themselves naturally and take positive steps forward in their emotional and developmental growth.
For parents, Katelyn provides guidance and support aimed at strengthening family dynamics and fostering secure parent-child bonds. By working collaboratively with both children and their parents, she helps families build healthier relationships, improve communication, and develop tools to navigate challenges together with greater confidence and connection.
Neurodivergent Individuals: With specialized training and experience, Katelyn works closely with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autism, to discover more of their strengths and uniqueness, while also developing strategies for managing everyday challenges. She tailors her approach to meet each client’s unique needs, fostering growth, confidence, and greater self-awareness.
Stress & Trauma: With extensive experience supporting individuals who have experienced intimate partner violence and family trauma, Katelyn uses a compassion-based and trauma-informed practice to help her clients process and heal from the effects of stress, trauma, and PTSD. She integrates evidence-based methods to build resilience and guide clients toward a sense of safety, balance, and empowerment.
Whatever your story may be, Katelyn is here to walk alongside you as you build resilience and rediscover your sense of hope and purpose.
