About Ava, MA RCC

Ava Razavi, Registered Clinical Counsellor

Ava Razavi is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who specializes in supporting children, youth and adults to navigate challenges including life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression or trauma. Ava also offers her expertise to mothers facing complex pregnancies, pregnancy loss, and uncharted waters of postpartum challenges.

Ava’s fascination with the field of psychology developed early on in her academic path, particularly focusing on children’s mental well-being and development. Consequently, she embarked on a career as a clinical counsellor, weaving together her expertise with her profound passion. Over more than a decade, she dedicated herself to counselling children and families who had endured various forms of trauma. Through this journey, she cultivated a profound awareness of the pivotal roles that empathy and cultural sensitivity played in orchestrating her clients’ quest toward healing, clarity and fortitude.

Throughout her professional life, Ava accumulated several years of experience working with children and adolescents whose parents were undergoing separation and divorce. Her multifaceted role encompassed not only nurturing the children by providing them essential tools to boost their self-esteem, enhance their communication skills, effectively handle the challenges of grief and loss, and set goals for their future, but also imparting guidance to parents, furnishing them with the understanding to navigate this significant life transition.

With her extensive experience and academic foundation, Ava customizes her approach to best serve her clients. She views her therapeutic work as a journey, where she guides people through their life circumstances in a setting that encourages self-care as the cornerstone of healing; as Rumi says, “Life is a balance between holding on and letting go.”
